It represents a good principle: be prepared and be proactive in pursuing a goal.
From the bird’s perspective, this is a useful reminder.


Consider the metaphor from the perspective of the worm. 
The early worm gets chomped. 
From the worm’s perspective, this is a reminder for patience and thoughtful planning. 


When you are fixated on one perspective creating your reality, remember, there is always another perspective. 
As a leader, much of your job is to help your team consider whether they are the worm or the bird in any challenge.
