Perseverance

Your natural association with perseverance likely relates to surviving and enduring a challenge.
The metaphor of holding on just long enough to weather the storm into smoother waters may come to mind.
Sometimes this conception of perseverance is absolutely necessary and effective.

Persevering does not exclusively mean hanging on tight through bumpy terrain.
To persevere means to persist, but dogmatic attachment to a single course of action is not required.
Sometimes the path of perseverance involves a course correction.

Perseverance is persistence towards the goal.
Persevering, as a leader, involves holding onto your principles in pursuit of the objective.
It also means that you are allowed to sidestep and pivot along the way.
