Future

At some point this week you considered the future.
In fact, at some point in the last few hours you considered the future without consciously focusing your attention toward it.
One of the default processes in your brain is to constantly evaluate and predict the probable future.

That process is built on a misnomer.
The probable future is only “probable” when it occurs as expected and your brain validates itself with the result.
Validating a prediction based on just positive results is faulty logic and bad science; but your brain thrives on it.

The feeling of overwhelm you feel when considering a future you cannot quite define clearly comes from a breakdown in your predictive processing.
Whether you are feeling stuck, or feeling like you have it all laid out, check in to see how much your automatic processing might be at play.
Talking the future through, writing it out, or a myriad of other techniques can help provide a balance to your default processing of predicting the future.
