Expectation

The most common cause for breakdown on a team or project is expectation.
It can show up in multiple forms: missed expectations, misaligned expectations, or even expectations that remained implicit rather than being explicit.
As a leader, when something goes wrong, take an inventory of expectations.

Your frustration in the breakdown may be valid, but the way you got there will likely be better solved through
examining what was missed in terms of expectations rather than the breakdown itself.
When in doubt: find the implicit expectation.
