Phases

Leadership is not a static state.
Similar to seasons, different phases of your business call for different leadership approaches.
This may mean you adapt your style to the immediate circumstances; it may also indicate a time for transition.

You lead through phases.
A key skill to develop is the ability to recognize when a phase shifts.
The more challenging skill to develop is the awareness of when a phase shifts to one for which you are no
longer the optimal leader.

Leading through a challenging phase is hard.
Recognizing that your leadership phase was to stabilize during challenge and that someone else is better
suited to lead beyond that is harder.
Your culminating contribution as a leader in a phase is to open the door for another leader to take on the next phase.
