This article intoduces a theoretical conception of a so called second-person approach to neuroscience: to the study of another mind. In the study of social interaction, there is a push towards this 'second-person' approach. This approach differentiates between social observation (seeing interaction) and social engagement (interacting) in the experimental process. Not only will this promote growth in the field of social neuroscience but also provide a new avenue for diagnosing and understanding psychiatric disorders.
